I think it should be open source, unless he has the time to write tutorials to help people.
Lets face it: Great things will attract n00bs asking.
Look as Messenger Plus!... Patchou's suggestion caused lot of ruckus (Im sure a plugin for msgplus aint as great as the program itself, but you get the picture)...

Anyways, whats the URL to his site?
I used to have it bookied, but I had a disk crash....
