Like if you change the ID3 tag in Winamp, it actually updates the file... Does iTunes do that, or does it just change it in iTunes?
for the 2nd question: no. iTunes updates the iTuens database, not the file.

In the music store (duh) just double click the song. as long as you don't hit the "Buy Now" button, it just gives u the 30 second preview. u don't even need an iTunes account. it does bug u to get one every 10(?) previews.
