No, not with the normal installer, it will ALWAYS install the so called "dodgy" stuff also (that includes "hijacking" the default homepage)....
But, there is a installer for Messenger alone it seems according to
this post on BigBlueBall, instead of the full
Messenger Suite... It can be downloaded here:
