Damn... I'm glad I set up that redirect last night... the thread is getting hit even harder today... I put a hit counter on the number of users getting redirected:
118 per minute!!! That's 2 requests for showthread.php?tid=22276 every second!
That seems highly suspicious... I've tested my hit counter code though and I'm sure it's correct.
I think I'll do some further investigation, and if this keeps up, just completely block the damn requests via .htaccess.
