In defense of MSIE (I never thought I would say this
) .... My older sister uses Firefox, zonalarm and windows XP firewall and her PC is so infested with spyware/adware, I even walk around that PC in a wide angle....
It all comes down to common sense, good settings and what you click, or rather don't click. (yes my sis is a morron in that area).
All this, just to say that it doesn't depend on the browser as much as you might think... The only disadvantage that MSIE has to the others is that it can run (insecure/dodgy) ActiveX objects; but you can be infected with spyware as easly on Firefox as you can in MSIE in the end.
