It's a function of Messenger Plus!, it shortens a nickname to fit a personalized status in you nickname, to change this go to preferences > Personalized statusses > change the value in the lowest box to 100, so that it, if really needed shortens your name, but will not do it if not needed. Or you could just untick the box above the feature to disable it completely...
