okay, firstly, don't double post.

secondly: have you tried /nick2 command e.g

/nick2, space, Ctrl+K, name

EDIT: Have you checked in Preferences to make sure you can use the commands?

Plus==>Preferences==>Instant Messages==> Commands and Tags ==> Allow the use of commands and tags
