Open a conversation window.
In the conversation window type ,

/nick
Make sure to make a
space after typing that.
Now press
ctrl + k and a window should pop-up with an array of colours for you to chose from. Pick a colour you would like and the window will dissapear and a little code will appear after your text.
Keep it. Now type the text you want to be coloured after the code. Press Enter, Whala! You can also use
ctrl + g for background colours and
ctrl + r for other formatting elements
By the way , only people with Plus! can see the colours
