TBH I don't think so...
This is much much better and contacts don't need any plugin to get the sounds. Plus, it's not just that you can send your own sounds: you will have a big library of funny sound effects and movie quotes etc etc
built by Plus! users worldwide right there to use. It made sense for that feature to be added to the core of Plus, and if it's there it's for the good of everyone
(although I understand audio plugin coders won't love the news...
)
Those coders can still work on lots of stuff: many things are yet to be done
