not realy though, The Windows update site is far more then the critical "auto" updates. The things you see on the auto update page are just the most critical stuff. Also, the first question isn't available for 95/98/98SE/Me(Millennium).

[MORE OR LESS OFF TOPIC]
God of the Devil, I don't care (much) which BS you produce in T&T, but keep your nonsense out of non-T&T forums. I also don't care what your opinion might be as there is freedom of speech, but what you said isn't an opinion per se, but false facts and pure bashing.

First of all let me point out that this "security test" does NOT test your security settings. You have to answer multichoice questions. This means it is HIGHLY(!) dependable on your own knowledge of the whole system.

Second... why are you taking this MICROSOFT WINDOWS security test if you so much hate MS and/or Windows. Simply so you can bash MS and spawn your thoughts again? You certainly didn't do this test out of curiousity. If it was, then you would have posted in the way everybody else posted.

Third... even so, many questions aren't even related to specific MS Windows apps/software/systems, but again DO require some PC knowledge, whatever your system is.

Fourth, let's take a look at your bashing:

1) nobody is forcing you, even not Lexmark. Search the net for a Linux printer driver, or buy another printer. (Even so, a printer doesn't need a driver per se to work)
2) Windows XP is not a security risk at all. It is the most secure system of all Windows. It is how YOU configure it and deal with it that makes it "insecure". And this goes just the same for Linux... Also, Linux is as much vulnarable as Windows to stuff. Only you don't hear people complaining about it that much, because bashing Linux isn't an international sport and far less people use Linux. And those who do, useually have a proper knowledge in how to secure their box.

"automatic updates" do not mean you have no control anymore in what to install/update. In fact, you have much MORE control in what is being installed if you select "only inform me, and don't download automatically". Again, shows either how muchlittle you know about it, or either how willing you are to bash MS just for the sake of it (and this isn't the place for it)...

There is nothing crap about SP2. If you know about what you're talking, instead of simply seeking a reason to flame, you wouldn't post that. (detailed discussion about SP2 being crap or not has been done before on this forum, proper tech sites, etc. Google them...)

How on earth can this be propaganda. The test is created by an independant security company.

And if you think your PC is protected enough then that's fine. If you still want to do the MS windows "security" test then that's fine also. But don't use this as a lame reason to start bashing MS again...
