i think stuffplug-NG has a feature simular to this too, but no sure on that on http://www.stuffplug.com
Better than using MD would be using Stuff Plug's Talk to Blocked Contats feature, then login as appearring offline, block all contacts using my block all contacts plugin as Third Dimension talks about.. And after oyu've done that go online, and you will appear offline to everybody (becase you blocked them) but still be able to talk to only the people you want to talk to...
... This is the only reason why I created the Block All contacts plugin..
