Are there any work arounds this ? I had 6.2 a while AFTER 7 was released and never got this message.

Is there some sort of patch, loader or plugin to prevent FORCED updating?

Uninstall MSN Messenger from ADD /REMOVE  an then go to START > RUN > an type REGEDIT, an then go to HKEY_CURRENT-USER/SOFTWARE/MICROSFT/MSNMESSENGER <-- an delete that KEY

then go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/MICROSOFT/MSNMESSENGER <-- an delete that Key , an  exit REGISTRY an reboot the system  an then  redownload 6.2
