Small bugs like this can be anything from a server problem, to a client problem on your end. Nothing to worry about, if it only happens once, it's not a big problem, but if it keeps going on, I'd uninstall and reinstall MSN Messenger. If that doesn't fix it, the problem may be with the MSN server and it would be wise to e-mail them.
Only uninstall & reinstall or e-mail if the problem starts to happen repeatedly.
