You can have docking keep your width by changing the registry with Plus! Tweak. Get plus tweak from
here.
Just open it up and go to the setting "DockingkeepsWidth" and change it to True.
Also you should be able to resize the window when it is docked to the side. If that isn't working for you, you may want to start a new thread and post your MSN Messenger and Plus! version info.
