Just untick the play sounds in the advanced tab. I have Maxthon and it lets you control a lot more of what happens when you surf. Firefox is crap. But lets not turn this into a which browser is better thread. I hate those. Carry on!
And that is, in one sentence, one of the main reasons why Firefox > all other browsers.

I do NOT want to visit a webpage and have background music I cannot control play, interrupting what I am listening to in Winamp.
