It would be nice to stop them from shutting down your PC for no reason, but what if the system freezes or becomes unstable and really needs to be restarted? 
Of course you could force the PC to turn off, but that's not really a good thing to do...
well if it is really bad then yeah turn the PC off at the mains, and if the system crashes it wouldn't let you get the start menu to close it
