If you use "Alternative mode" in Plus! Preferences -> General Options -> Miscellaneous -> Messenger Attach method, Plus! will load with MSN Messenger even though msgplus.exe is not loaded at startup.

However, please note: switching to Alternative Mode does not remove the startup registry for msgplus.exe
