Actually, the RAM in an apple computer is just the same as in any other computer. Same with the hard disks, cd drives etc etc
The hardware is the same kind, but Macs check to see it it is Mac compatible or something, like a blown out hardware level WHQL check. You can take a component out of a Mac ad put it into a non Mac and hav it work most of the time, but not the other way around.
