Well.. I agree with Matty...
But nevertheless, this guy asked if it was possible to make such a plugin?... And if someone wanted to do it...
Well.. I'm not an expert here, but from what I could read from the source code of Music Logger, and the UBX packets, it is possible from your locale side to distinguish between WMP and iTunes.. Correct me if I'm wrong?...
But, you might be out of luck if no one wants to make this...
I don't know if it has much use, and I wouldn't use this plugin much.. But would be fun using a day or week to get to know which of your contacts use what player.. Especially if it supported telling apart many other players, like Winamp, Real, and all the other players.. It could be interesting to know which of your buddys supports what players...
Myself is still a huge fan of Winamp!
Edit:
Just checked the music logger thread again...
Yes, that code already does distinguish WMP users from iTunes users...
Though I was wondering, what about Winamp users, using the winamp plugins... What does the UBX packets from them look like?.. Do they contain some information telling it's winamp? Or do they use the same UBX packets as WMP?... I guess the latter is the correct answer
?
If this is correct, Winamp users (and for that matter, other players, if plugins are avaible for that) will probably be distinguished as WMP users... We would then only be able to distinguish iTunes users from the rest...
