Be very selective in what you load at startup. On the average computer, many stuff gets into those startup registry settings and startup menu's and stuff. Extremely many stuff of that is not needed at all.

Also see "CookieRevised's reply to Slow Startup"... including the links provided in that post. Read everything carefully

what could you recommend disabling then? i think 'tuneup utilities 2006' shows all the stuff like autoruns from your posts
