There's no thing as "only x names left", you have tons of possible names you can choose and they will never all be used.
Another thing is that they will never send a mail to everyone if they were going to close, they would use other channels for this. There's a reason they have a place on their site for the press

And a third thing is that they wouldn't stop right after they changed the name of the product and are beta testing a new version
