Some plugins were not designed to install properly if Messenger Plus! is not installed on an Administrator Account. Chances are your Windows account is a Limited Access or Guest account. ~~Which Plugin are you trying to install?~~ Just saw you were trying to install Color Nick. I will talk to the author see if they can fix it.
