nope, you need special compatible discs with a special lightscribe layer. Lightscribe compatible discs are available as all the popular formats: CD+-R(W), DVD+-R, etc (although I haven't seen lightscribe compatible DVD DL discs though... doesn't mean they don't exist of course).

Lightscribe discs should cost roughly the same. The $80 dollars talked about by Voldemort is for the drive, not for the discs....
eg:
* 50-Pack lightscribe CD-Rs is $62.72 (
here) = $1.25 per disc (note: and these are brand CDs; not some cheap white-product thingie)
* Your 30-Pack CD+R is $34.20 = $1.14 per disc
Hardly any difference in price at all... (same goes for the drives). Some shopping around and you'll even find cheaper lightscribe discs and drives than normal ones.
