I don't think it sucks, i would not like it at the bottom becuase then would would have keep looking down. It's better to have it up the top or on the side because the main part you look at in the conversation window is where your friend is talking so you can easly see if anyone else is talking to you if the tabs are up the top or on the side.

But you never know patchou could add that feature in the near future.
