RE: Problem With Backgrounds In Windows Live Messenger
- Uninstall Windows Live Messenger (Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs)
- Delete the C:\Program Files\MSN Messenger\ folder
- Download Windows Live Messenger again
- Install it

You should then be able to see your backgrounds.
