You can do that, but keeping in mind, that will delete everything.. "display pictures, custom emoticons, winks, etc." on every account.
If you just want to delete
your display pictures, go to
%appdata%\Microsoft\MSN Messenger, find out your user ID, then go into that folder, then there's a subfolder called UserTile. If you delete everything in there, that will delete all your display pictures.
