No Plus! 4.01 won't work with WLM 8.1. Patchou is currently working on Plus! 4.10, but it will take time to get the new version working properly with the new WLM build.

You could stick with WLM ~~8.1~~ 8.0 for now, because there really aren't much new features in 8.1 compared to 8.0... and it looks like 8.0 is still more stable than 8.1 too.
