I don't remember exactly what might cause it, but I hope someone knows what the problem is and how to fix it.
I tried to use a visual style this morning.
I used
this patch and then played around with some styles, decided to use one of them, restarted the computer, took a shower, and sat at the computer only to find the style disappeared and replaced with the one like
