I thought about something:
Contact::Name gives us the name as published by the contact.
Furthermore, the OnEvent_ChatWndReceiveMessage gives us

[string] Name of the user that sent the message, as it appears in the chat window
So, maybe there is a way of comparing the two and showing both in the contact list?
Unfortunately, I couldn't find how one can change the name shown in the contact lists.
I'll live with it until Patchou decides to change it, I think I can cope
