Bill Gates is currently pretty much ending his Microsoft career and getting ready to spend fulltime on charity. He doesn't do that much anymore like what he used to do, he's mainly the man for press conferences now
. Also he, like mentioned before, gets a lot of his money is paid trough stocks, shares and bonuses that are not (fully) included in the calculations from websites.
While Madonna is still very actively doing work (new CD, world tour and everything).
Doesn't really surprise me. But it doesn't mean at all Madonna is richer than Gates.
