Try removing any proxy servers.
Removing Internet Explorer Proxy Settings:


    * Start Internet Explorer.
    * On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
    * On the Connections tab, click LAN Settings.
    * Clear the Automatically detect settings check box.
    * Click OK, and then click OK again.
