because in various countries you are considered to be "hacking" a person's computer by obtaining the message before they even send it over the internet. This is invading another persons privacy and in some countries, you could be facing severe punishment for it....plus think about it carefully from the other point of view...how would you like it if someone saw what you were writing, wrotye and sent a message based on it but you change it before your contact realises that they sent the message. And what about if your writing in the wrong conversation window?
Think thoroughly before putting in a request such as this as there are many implications and ethically it's wrong to do such a thing.

Well, it is not possible. If you mean when they open a conversation. If you mean when they're writing then you'll see at the bottom "x is writing a message" and that's about it. You can't be notified when they open a conversation anymore.
But since the messenger gets the message when talking, doesn't messenger get the message before the convo is opened?
He's talking about the "XXX is writing a message".
Isn't it sent nomather if a convo is open or not? And in that case shouldn't xniff sniff it?
In theory yes but in reality no, because the message still hasn't been sent to the server until the enter key or send button is hit.
