This problem can happen if your laptop is requests an IP address, from your router, due to a wrong subnet mask being entered on your laptop\computer’s network settings.

Please try the following.
Click Start > Click Control Panel (classic view) > Double Click Network Connections > Right click the name of your network and click properties > Under the general tab select Internet Protocols (TCP\IP) > Click Properties.

After doing the above one of two options will be highlighted, either "Obtain an IP address automatically" or "Use the following IP address".

If "Obtain an IP address automatically" is selected, this method will not work for you and you should just click OK and quit.

If "Use the following IP address" is selected check the Subnet Mask is correct for your network. By default, for most networks, it should read 255.255.255.0 however you can find your subnet mask in your router's settings, but chances are it should be 255.255.255.0

If anything else is there make sure Subnet Mask reads 255.255.255.0 or whatever it is set to in your router's settings. Then click OK and try again.

Please note, if the problem is not fixed after trying this on your laptop you may have to do this for all computers connected to your network.
