The problem is indeed quite often the line breaks (which are Unix style, not DOS style) and/or the use of fixed width fonts to draw art...
However, what NFO viewer can not display correctly is real
ANSI art. So, for stuff like NFO files and other files which may contain 'ascii' and/or 'ansi' art I use
ACiD View (or you could use
PabloView too)
ANSI art, eg:
