RE: Which antivirus to get?
Personally I have used Norton for years and it has found like 1 trojan. I'm finding it not worth the resources (or the money) but I do think that the firewall and intrusion detection are good (I have had a couple of alerts with that), but I could probably just pay for a better firewall program instead. Personally I wouldn't buy it, it is only that my dad buys it and i used a copy of it.
I think that you should be alright if you don't go to overly risky sites and you are careful with opening your emails (Outlook 2007 seems really good with a lot of its protection) and that you use a good spyware cleaner (SpyBot is my personal choice), along with some kind of firewall then I think you should be alright. However, if there are other people that use the computer then it might be wise to use one of the aforementioned anti-virus programs as a safe guard.
Just my 2 cents, do with it as you will.
