Why does TrueSwitch require my User ID and Password?

We require your user ID and password to both your old and new ISPs for security purposes: this ensures that only persons authorized to access your account can copy your personal information etc.  Once we have validated both User IDs and passwords, we then use your User ID and password to log into your old and new Internet accounts to perform the TrueSwitch services that you request including, for example, to copy your personal information (e.g., address book, calendar events, stored emails, etc.) and to forward any new emails.  We also send Change of Address Notifications to your friends and contacts which include your new email address, etc.
