Disagreed, although torrents seem very easy for us to understand, trust me when I say most people have absolutly no clue what it is, and have enormous problems getting it to work.

My advice is this : give the setup to a few sites (msgstuff, sonicsam, etc(people you trust)) and put links to their sites' download on your official page.
Of course that might stop you from knowing how many downloads you got, but I'm pretty sure there's a way to know.
