IMO, the difference in processor speed is quite small, and not going to factor a huge difference in performance. On the other hand, you're doubling the RAM on the other model, and that probably will be noticeably different.
On a side note, the best upgrade to get for a laptop IMO is the hard drive. most laptop drives only spin at 5400rpm, compared to 7200rpm in a standard desktop. Both of these models sport a 5400 drive anyway, so this note is mostly pointless to this discussion. Meh.

Speaking of Video RAM, if you're getting a laptop with no video ram, you'll be kicking yourself when you try upgrade past Windows XP...
but anyway...get the one with more RAM. itll be way better.
