MessengerDiscovery Live is an add-on for Windows Live Messenger and it has the option I mentioned above. People who have the program installed at their computers can use that option and prevent their contacts add their
custom emoticons by right clicking>Add... menu. But it is a small possibility that all of your contacts have that add-on and uses that option of it. Yet, you have to make sure that your contacts doesn't use it. (There may be other add-ons which does the same thing about emoticons, it is not necessarily MessengerDiscovery Live)
