As nile said it does not work on everything. The following is a list of things that can't be colorized:
bmp resources
ico files
certain icons
certain elements that you put in the contact list
anything in a drop down menu
now playing icon
sign in animation
status animation
emoticons
This is what i know of in 8.5, from what I understand 9.0 is a lot more trickier with colorization, nile can vouch for that
