a. Start Windows Live Messenger.
b. On the "Tools" menu, click "Options."
c. Click "Connection" in the left navigation pane.
d. Click "Advanced Settings" in the "Connection Settings" section.
e. Delete the content of the "SOCKS" field.
f. Save settings.
