While they're still using your computer, what will be the benefit of seeing if someone has messaged you. When you got your computer back, you will unlock your Messenger anyway and you can see who messaged you and reply them then.
He means other people in the house eg. his parents, sister etc. seeing private conversations, or if you're supposed to be busy.
