If your standards for "good with music" are anywhere close to mine, you are not going to get all of that in one headset without spending at least $300. Most headsets, particularly USB headsets, are intended for chat and are barely FM radio quality. Most high end headphones are intended for listening to music and don't come with microphones. There are only a handful of products that combine high end headphones with a mic, aimed at the DJ and professional market, and priced accordingly.
As far as chat grade headsets go, I have been through several and highly recommend
Logitech Premium Notebook headset. It is comfortable, has proven durable (after a year of daily use, mine shows no signs of wear), and the sound quality is decent for both headphones and microphone. I certainly wouldn't call it "high fidelity", but it might be acceptable for someone who also finds the white iPod earbuds good enough.
The headset itself is analog, but ships with a USB dongle -- which works fine with other analog headsets. That means if you ever break the headset, you will still have the USB dongle and will be able to choose from a much wider selection of both analog and USB headsets when you replace it. The folding feature and carrying case are not very important to me, but were still handy the few times I've needed to pack it in my luggage.
