Run that, and possibly reinstall Plus! All should be fine.

The file deletes all your MSN Messenger / Windows Live related registry/settings, and while it's not recommended at all, it can of little help to laurenz

And laurenz, have you tried to change your Messenger theme color (and reopen the preferences) and see how such weird problem looked like with other colors?
