December 1st is what Microsoft mentioned in a mail as the startdate of Wave 3 rollout, but the rollout is in stages. It has also been said by Microsoft sources that the entire wave 3 rollout wont be complete before the end of the year. Services are probably the first to hit, applications like Messenger could be much later.
February 10 as a releasedate is a rumor based on
a post from our very own Mr. Kay.
I guess the truth is probably somewhere between those two dates. Also, they could release the new Messenger build in the next few weeks but not label it the final version yet (another public beta).
