as you said the script icon in the options panel of your skin is there but the option isn't working... cause if you check it and apply the changes MP!L never ask you to restart WLM and when you open the options is unchecked... so... there is a problem there...
as I said before the MP!L icon in the top corner of the conversation windows dissapeared as well... and should do an option to leave the Email icon as the default one too... thanks in advance dude...
The option for script icon work properly now and the MP!L icon in the conversation windows is back , sorry...
I restored the original mail button too.
