Contacts sometimes don't see sent messages in WLM 2009

O.P. Contacts sometimes don't see sent messages in WLM 2009
Every once in a while, my contacts are unable to see my message sent during a conversation with them. Somehow the message gets "lost" during transmission. It does show up in my chat log however, but my contacts does not see it. Is this a rare bug I have encountered?

I'm behind a linksys router.
