RE: Toronto Meet August'09
Getting a passport costs money. And doing it via a speed service costs a hell of a lot more.
In Belgium, a passport costs €71 / US$99 (for adults) or €41 / US$57 (for -18). It should be ready within the week by normal service.
However, if you want it faster it costs €240 / US$335 (adults) or €210 / US$293 (-18). Then you have it within 2 days (usually the day after).
They are valid for 5 years and have 32 pages. You can ask for a 64 page passport too, if you plan to travel a hell of a lot, but that, of course costs a hell of a lot more.
You see, this is not something you do just for fun or just because you might have a use for it some day.
Everybody who travels abroad must have a passport.
Then there is also the Visa, which you must have if you want to travel to certain countries (this not only depends on the country you're travelling too, but also the country you're from, the time you want to stay, what your purpose to stay is, etc...).
(don't confuse a passport with an ID card which you also must have in some countries as a personal identification).
Check your local governements website to see how much it costs to get a passport (and how long it takes), and to see if you need a Visa or not.
