After the latest update Live will not let me log in to messenger without downloading the new version, so I download the new version and try to install it and get the following error:

Couldn't Install Programs

Sorry, you cannot install the programs you've chosen on this operating system.

Error: os_check: 0x80280004


Please can someone help me with this as it's frustrating not being able to log into live due to a forced update that doesn't work.
