If you read that thread you will notice that there is nothing wrong with that exe, as such a thing has been reported before. It is simply your virus scanner which gives you a false positive probably because that exe is compressed, that's all. The script (and all its files) is 200% safe.
PS: the code in the exe is btw the exact same which came with version 2.3 and that version was bundled with Messenger Plus!. This just to say that there is absolutly nothing wrong with it (otherwise it would never have won a prize and been bundled with Plus!).
So there is also no difference between the exe in 2.2 and 2.3 (and thus 2.4.0) except for the version number and the internal parameter 'magic' number (also see the script file). They all are compressed in the same manner also.
If 2.4.0 is "unsafe" then 2.2 is just as "unsafe" (because the exe's are the same). It makes no sense that your virus scanner would give a notice about 2.4.0, but not about 2.2.
